Garnishment & Warrant in Debt

Bankruptcy Can Stop a Garnishment
A Warrant in Debt is the first step a creditor takes in order to get a Garnishment judgement against a debtor.
A Garnishment is a Court-ordered judgment which states a creditor may seize your wages and freeze your bank account in order to satisfy the debt that is owed.
Filing for Bankruptcy can stop the pending garnishment and provide you financial relief.
When you file for Bankruptcy, a Court order goes into effect called the “Automatic Stay.” This protects debtors in Bankruptcy by prohibiting most creditors from taking or continuing actions and attempts to collect a debt.
It is possible that the Court will order the creditor to return any garnished wages to you and unfreeze your bank account if you file for Bankruptcy before the garnishment deadline.
America Law Group has experience on garnishments and Bankruptcy. We can help you handle the garnishment and help you get financial relief.
