Attorney Scott W. Carpenter has been practicing family law, bankruptcy, criminal/traffic defense and contract law with America Law Group since 2016. Scott graduated cum laude from Hampton-Sydney College in 2011 with a B.A. in Philosophy, he recieved his J.D. from the University of South CArolina School of Law in 2014, where he was active as a Law School Ambassador and Pro Bono Board Member. He worked with organizations such as the South Carolina Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and Harvest Hope Food Bank. Scott recieved Honors Scholorship for both undergraduate and law school, and he recieved numerous academic awards in law school, including Best Oral Arguments in Legal Research and Writing and several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, which are given to the highest scoring student in each law schol class. He enjoys sports, playing guitar, hiking and reading.

Attorney Richard Oulton, founder of America Law Group, Inc., has been a continuously licensed lawyer since 1973. He has been licensed to practice law in New York, District of Columbia, and Virginia. Richard has a history of fighting “the good fight”. He is a combat wounded Purple Heart recipient who served with the famed “Walking Dead Marines”. In more recent times, he continued the good fight as “The Wyndham Flag Man” in a four year battle fought against the developer of Wyndham, a planned Richmond community, for the right of all homeowners to properly fly our American Flag atop a flagpole on Memorial Day.  He fought through to the Virginia Supreme Court and on to the U.S. Supreme Court. Richard is a member of the Khe-Sanh Survivors Association, the “Walking Dead Marine” Association, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Richard has volunteered his legal services as Legislative Officer of the Virginia Chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and as Associate Professor of Health Law at the Medical College of Virginia.  His academic credentials include an Associate of Arts AAS, Bachelor of Arts BA, Master of Business Administration MBA, and Juris Doctor JD degrees. Richard is Dad to John, Alexis and Jamie.

 
 

                                        Brian K. Stevens

Brian is a Virginia native and obtained his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University and his law degree from The College of William and Mary. He has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 1986.

For over twenty years Brian conducted a solo law practice, with emphasis on residential and commercial real estate, as well as criminal and traffic defense, domestic relations, wills and estates, small business representation and civil litigation. Since joining America Law Group, he is focusing his practice primarily in the areas of consumer bankruptcy, domestic relations and criminal and traffic defense. He works mainly in our Colonial Heights and Blackstone offices.

Away from the office, Brian enjoys travel, especially to any place with palm trees, playing golf, attending live concerts and theatre, and he is a fan of most spectator sports, especially baseball, soccer and college basketball.

 

Attorney Robert B. DukeAttorney Robert Duke has been practicing bankruptcy and estate planning since 2010, with America Law Group since 2011. Robert graduated from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2006. He also graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 2003. Robert is a recipient of an Honors Scholarship from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, recipient of a Book Award for Constitutional Law, and was competitively selected for the Student Judicial Council for the University of South Carolina. Robert is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. 

 

Attorney Christian DeGuzman has been in practice since 2009, with America Law Group since 2010. He graduated summa cum laude from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia with a B.S. in 2004. He then attended Penn State University, State College, Pennsylvania where he earned his J.D. in 2008. Christian was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2009. He is also a member of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Virginia. He focuses his law practice on immigration law, civil litigation, consumer bankruptcy and family law.

Christian is a native of the Tidewater area. He was born to Filipino and Italian first-generation immigrants and speaks fluent Spanish and Italian. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, especially to developing countries, where he volunteers his time.  Christian also plays soccer in a recreational league and has recently taken up free-diving and spear fishing.

Christian is an Assistant Vice President and shareholder in America Law Group, Inc. He heads our Immigration Practice.
